“What do you do when faced with a collision of priorities between the needs of the many and the needs of the few?

ABOUT THE BOOK

NATALIE'S FIRST NOËL

1782326753.png

NATALIE’S FIRST NOËL is based on a gut-wrenching premise proven popular through fiction written over the years:

What do you do when faced with a collision of priorities between the needs of the many and the needs of the few? Will "The Greater Good" win over "The Only Good That Matters"? Will your duty to your country in its moment of need prevail over your aching desire to protect your family?

Inspired by a little-known incident recorded in the personal diary of a well-known figure in the Second World War, this novel combines historical realism with an emotional family drama, set against the backdrop of the pivotal Battle of Britain and The Blitz.

The reader will follow the story of Grace and Evan Ballam, a couple separated from their newborn baby when she is captured with her grandparents by the enemy during the occupation of the Channel Islands in 1940. Cut off, isolated, and fighting for survival against a seemingly invincible enemy, what does the future look like for baby Natalie and her grandparents? How will Grace and Evan’s love endure as they live under siege on the front line of freedom’s last stand in Europe? Will the faith and support of Grace’s friends help her find solace while she copes with life without her baby? Can Evan, a pilot in the Royal Air Force, win the war against the enemy while fighting a losing battle with his broken heart? What will the Christmas of 1940 look like for everyone in this world as Natalie celebrates her first Noël?
